Origin
The majority of ajwa dates are farmed in Saudi Arabia, namely in the Madina region, which is one of the Kingdom's two most sacred places, second only to Mecca.Since ajwah dates are referenced in Islamic texts, many Muslims place a great deal of cultural and religious significance on them. They are thought to have several health advantages and are frequently eaten as a sunnah (recommended)food during Ramadan.
Appearance
Ajwa dates have a dark brown to black appearance and are modest in size.
Flavor
Ajwa dates are easily identified by their elongated shape and a tiny groove on one side. They have a soft, moist texture. Mildly sweet with a touch of bitterness, ajwah dates have a flavor all their own. They are a popular option for people who desire less sweetness than most dates have because they are less sweet than other date varieties.
