Barhi dates and their Information

Origin

Barhi dates, also called Barhee dates or Barhi yellow dates, are thought to have come from Basra, Iraq. However, they are now commonly grown in a number of places across the world, including as California, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Appearance and Flavor

Barhi dates are spherical and small to medium in size. They begin as bright yellow when immature and become caramel or dark brown when ripe. Barhi dates are regarded as the most delicate date variety and have a soft, creamy feel. Barhi dates are incredibly sweet and have a flavor similar to honey, sometimes referred to as "buttery."

Uses

These dates are perfect for use as a natural sweetener in recipes such as energy balls, granola bars, and desserts because they tend to keep their texture when cooked. They can also be eaten with cheese and charcuterie or filled with nuts. These homemade larabars would be ideal for their date.
